What Flavour?

Having decided on a Stelvio, I then had to decide on the variant.

It had to be a Quadrifoglio - right?

After my cock-up with the Mercedes choice, I had to get this one right. Whilst a QF would be my dream, it's probably not the right choice when wife and dogs are factored in; and there's the little matter of insurance. I could never afford new, it would have to be pre-loved; the problem with that - they've not all been loved. I spotted one on Auto Trader and, just for fun, checked the MOT history - it had failed its first MOT:

• Three tyres below legal limits.
• Engine management warning lights.
• Illegal number plate - incorrect character spacing.

I suspected way too many 'launches', and who puts a car through an MOT with illegal tyres! The car deserved more respect and a better home, but I'd just get earache for buying a money pit.

Decision time

I'd decided that it had to be the Veloce, then Arnold Clark (Scotland) started advertising new Competizione models - alas too far away for me. Then fortune prevailed and an Alfa dealership within striking distance advertised a Competizione on their website. I was in luck.
